    Postgraduate Students of China-ASEAN School of Economics Attended the 31st Tri-U International Joint Seminar & Symposium

    From September 22 to 26, 2025, the 31st Tri-U International Joint Seminar & Symposium (Tri-U) was successfully held at Mie University in Japan. This year's seminar focused on the global hot topic of "population, food, energy, environment, and disaster management," bringing together nearly 100 faculty and student representatives and experts from six universities across China, Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia, including Guangxi University, Jiangsu University, Mie University, Chiang Mai University, Maejo University, and Bogor Agricultural University. They jointly explored cutting-edge academic issues, exchanged innovative research findings, and injected new vitality into promoting international academic cooperation and exchange.

    Among the 13 student representatives of Guangxi University, Ouyang Jinglin, a 2024 Master's candidate in International Business from China-ASEAN School of Economics, stood out with exceptional academic excellence and comprehensive capabilities. Bearing the mission to showcase the School's academic prestige and the spirit of young scholars, she embarked on this international academic journey.

    During the conference, Ouyang Jinglin presented her research findings on the theme of "Environment" under the conference topic. Titled "Carbon Border Barriers and ASEAN Market Adaptation: How Chinese Solar & Storage Firms Redefine Localization Strategies", she reported to attending experts, scholars, and student representatives from various countries. She conducted an in-depth analysis of the impact of carbon border barriers on the ASEAN market and how Chinese photovoltaic and energy storage enterprises adapt to these changes through innovative localization strategies. Her insightful presentation earned enthusiastic applause from the audience, demonstrating solid academic foundation and keen international perspective.

    The conference also featured a special performance by the University of Heidelberg Choir from Germany. During their visit, they attended lectures on local history and culture alongside the construction of underground charging stations in cities, gaining deep insights into Japan's advanced practices in preserving historical heritage and modern urban development. Through immersive cultural immersion and historical exploration, the participants broadened their global perspectives and enriched the academic discourse. This innovative approach of combining theoretical discussions with field investigations allowed the students to better comprehend the complexity and diversity of global issues through practical integration, providing valuable references for their future research endeavors.

    Tri-U was jointly initiated in 1994 by Mie University, Chiang Mai University, and Jiangsu University. Starting as a three-institution collaboration, it has gradually evolved into an international academic event involving multiple countries and institutions.
