On September 17, 2025, David Fitzpatrick, Provost and CEO at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, led a delegation to visit the China-ASEAN School of Economics. Xia Guoen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Guangxi University; Jiang Wei, Member of the Party Committee and Executive Deputy Secretary of China–ASEAN School of Economics, Guangxi University; and Gong Zheng, Vice Dean of China–ASEAN School of Economics, accompanied the visit.

Fitzpatrick listened to a detailed introduction of the characteristics and development advantages of the school in discipline construction, scientific research and talent training. He highly recognized the construction and development of the school, and looked forward to deepening cooperation between the two sides in the future in the fields of applied economics discipline construction, international talent training and joint research projects.
