Abstract: Today, the world is living through accelerating changes unseen in a century, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s status and role in constructing the new development paradigm have become more prominent. Local cooperation is a new highlight of regional cooperation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Carrying out local cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has become an important strategic opportunity for domestic provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) to promote high-level opening up.Guangxi has a solid foundation for local cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The main approaches and strategies for Guangxi to carry out local cooperation with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are to actively promote the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization - ASEAN Center, carry out international medical cooperation and cooperation in industries with unique advantages, innovate exchange and cooperation mechanisms, and accelerate the construction of international border, sea and air channels.
